[DIY] Long Fringe Top

I LOVE DIY PROJECTS!! My style is ever-changing, so DIY projects allow me to manipulate and re-purpose old garments! DIYs save money, give your style some individuality, and are fun! the possibilities are endless, so there will be MANY DIYs to come!

Want to learn how to achieve the above look? Read on...

  • long dress [with or without sleeves; preferably cotton/jersey fabric]
  • scissors [sharp; dull scissors will create ragged edges]
  • marker [safe for fabric; stay away from permanent, it bleeds thru]
DIRECTIONS

1.  FLIP your dress inside out so that markings can be made on the inside and so that tassels can curl inward ...

2.  MARK where you want your fringing to start. If you want a cropped look, mark a few inches under bust area; if you dont want it cropped, mark at belly button or below. Tip: put dress on (inside out) to ensure accurate marking)

3.  CUT 1 inch wide strips from bottom to top. Tip: Pay attention to the direction you are cutting in, the scissors tend to slant diagonally; a diagonal cut will ruin the fringing (unless intentional).
Tip: cut inch wide snips all along bottom before proceeding upward; the snips will work as a guide.
4.  PULL strips taught. When you have completed your strippin' pull each piece until fabric curls up, then TIE a knot at the end!
Tip: You dont want to pull too hard or you'll snap your strip. Pinch at the base with one hand and use the other to pull taught ..
Tip: There might be some extra fabric sticking out of your fringes (from jagged cutting) just snip those for a neater look ...
FINISHED!!

Greenhouse NYC
I'm new to the club scene, but Greenhouse is one of my favorites! They play all the hip hop hits as well as the house/techno hits. There is always a mixture of partygoers, the models, the businessmen, college kids, the urban entrepreneurs, celebrities, and my lil' posse. We always have an amazing time while there.

Check out the venue ...

Pretty fancy, huh?? There is also a downstairs level, which plays different songs from the main level. It is very easy to get bored in the club, so the variety in either level keeps Greenhouse entertaining and lively!

2013 Trend Report
I'm sure we all know how trends work ... right? Designers create them, or revamp them, since most trends are recycled. The stores and stylish folk present them, and everyone follows suit. I've been doing a little research on the upcoming trends for the Spring/Summer 2013 ...
these are just a few of the trends I've looked into, if you are really interested in the up and coming trends of 2013 CONTACT ME and we can talk fashion ^.^

I believe 2013 will be the year for fashionable innovation like never before, the most unlikely people are expressing themselves through clothing, i hope we can all push the envelope a little further than its been pushed before. I'll be on the lookout for street styles that follows these trends!

Sociallite Accessories Boutique!

Sociallite Accessories, this is where I “work.” I hardly call it a job because I love this place. I am able to style customers, utilize my creativity, and meet some awesome people!

The owner, Jenny, is stylish, business savy, and hilarious! No one could ask for a better boss ^.^ she hand picks each and every item for the store(and sometimes I get to help too!) we love to work with jewelry designers so if you've got the goods lets talk business: contact me here, or Jenny here (subject: JEWELRY DESIGNER)! only the most interesting jewelry, and only the most exclusive handbags.

Lil' Sociallite

We've added a new section to Sociallite Accessories, Lil’ Sociallite, for all the little divas! Inspired by Jenny's own little diva, Leana. All items must get Leana's approval before it is added to the Lil' Sociallite corner, she is also the face of Lil' Sociallite (she'd have it no other way!). Headbands, bows, earrings, necklaces, bangles, and coin purses for the chickidies! Honestly, we’d be foolish not to have a section for the girlies, they promote us like no other. The glitter catches their eye and they’re not satisfied until they own something in here!

Lil' Sociallite

Sociallite Accessories is your one-stop shop for all things fabulous, from ear cuffs to body chains and clutches and handbags! All things unique and glamourous!

"You don't have to pay the price of a socialite to look like one!"
