I had the honor of attending the BET Music Matters Showcase Jan 8^th! Not quite sure what BET Music Matters is? Let’s say it’s how the talented and worthy artists of color catch their big break! My personal favorites of the BET Music Matters successors are Kendrick Lamar and Elle Varner.

The showcase venue was S.O.B.s, a bar/ nightclub in SOHOs up and coming "nightlife" area! It’s a large space with a great stage area, and overflowing bar! Many artists graced the stage with their awe inspiring talents, but none killed it quite like my girl Esnavi!

The crowd vibed with her as she brought spunk, sass, and flare to each number. She performed original songs (which are available for download on iTunes) but her rendition of “Love Song"-Rihanna feat. Future was AMAZING! (I’ve heard her redo a few Rihanna Songs, and let’s just say … the Roc signed the wrong gal!)
